The Zenith Backfire Release

Truly a "Revolution" in back tension release design. The index finger hole is fitted with a precision ball bearing which allows the entire release to revolve around your finger. This aligns the release at exactly the same angle for each shot and eliminates mis-fires without having to deal with releasing a safety. The position of the middle and ring fingers can also be adjusted to suit the preference of the individual archer.

The release has been retro-fitted with Zenith's Flip-it head, which is recognized as the finest head in the back tension world. This also allows the use of any of Zenith's clicker cams, with the half moon Hcam being the preferred cam. The position of the cam in this release allows this two sided cam to be used, without any index finger interference.
Since this release must be pulled with the index finger alone, to allow the floating action, a thumb peg has been added to the 3 finger handle. The 4 finger handle is shown above. The four finger handle extends around the rear of the index finger bearing and can be used in two ways. The middle finger can be placed in the hole with the index finger placed on its own ledge to the left of the hole. This ledge can also be fitted with an optional thumb peg (included) to allow the release to be used in the three finger configuration shown above, but with the additional aid of the thumb to assist in drawing heavy bows. In this mode, when the thumb is released, the release will revolve around the index finger to the exact same position every time. From this point, applying back tension will cause the release to fire, or drop into the click if you're using one.

This release is beautifully made and finished in the tradition of excellence set by all of Zenith's Comfort and X-Cel Releases. The release includes the Flip-it head and any cam. The extra handle can be ordered as an option. The thumb peg will be included with both handles.
